Dr. Kaus is a graduate of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, Germany and became a dentist in 1990. He wrote his doctoral thesis (Dr.med.dent.) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Willi Schulte, who developed the Tübingen implant system for immediate replacement of teeth in the 70ies. Prof. W. Schulte later became an Honorary Fellow of the Academy of Osseointegration in recognition of his outstanding contributions to implant dentistry. Dr. Kaus later joined the Department of Prosthodontics and Implantology at the University of Tübingen. Dr. Kaus worked closely with Prof. Dr. Heiner Weber as “Oberarzt” (senior dentist) and headed the undergraduate programme at the University of Tübingen. At the Department of Prosthodontics and Implantology he treated patients, carrying out the surgical and restorative aspects of implant dentistry. He also was responsible for research and teaching.
