Dr. Kim MacKenzie was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia and grew up in Alma, Nova Scotia. After high school, she attended the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton and received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Dr. MacKenzie graduated from Dalhousie University in 2001 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. While in dental school, Dr. MacKenzie received several awards including the Dr. Terry Ingham Memorial Scholarship for academic performance and strong ethical and humanitarian principles. She also received the Dr. D.E. Williams prize for greatest proficiency in Clinical Pediatric Dentistry. After graduating from dental school, Dr. MacKenzie practiced in London, Ontario for a year, then she moved back to Nova Scotia to join Tantallon Dental Centre. Currently she is a member of the Canadian Dental Association, the Nova Scotia Dental Association and the Halifax County Dental Society.
